The following is an extract from an article that appeared in the October edition of the Institute of Swimming Pool Engineers (ISPE) magazine.
In recognising the need for specialist training in the commercial sector, the ISPE has, for some years, “endorsed” a small number of training courses, provided by individuals or companies.
For a number of years ‘Studies in Work’ under Allen Wilson, FISPE, have been delivering the ISPE Pool Operator’s Course, and more recently, the training courses offered by Flowman Leisure, under the direction of ISPE Members John Mannion and David Lowe have also become ISPE – endorsed.
We are now delighted to be able to be able to announce that we are now extending this programme further and to that end we have recently added two new companies to our list of ISPE – Endorsed Training Providers.
Training courses offered by ISPE Members Mike Shuff and Jim Thomas who together run ‘Palm Academy Ltd’ have been offered ISPE-endorsed status and so have those provided by Colin Jenkinson, MISPE, who runs Leisure Safety and Training Services.
This type of training facilitates those working as swimming pool operators in hotels, schools, leisure clubs, holiday parks and other such commercial facilities.
